Friends of the calumet-Sag Trail

Folks, the Happy Trails Jamboree on October 2 out at Lake Katherine raised more than $16,000 for the Calumet-Sag Trail. Bigger-fied by federal trail grants, that comes out to $80,000 for the communities and agencies planning for and building the Calumet-Sag Trail.
Behind all that money was some honest-to-god hard work by the Friends of the Calumet-Sag Trail, Jennifer Orr Photography, the staff from Lake Katherine Nature Preserve, George Mitchell of Mitchell’s Flowers who busted his tail as live auctioneer, Mario’s Party Rental, and the evening’s band, Bernie Glim and the Country Road.
In addition to selling shots of Wild Turkey as a shameless Miss Kitty, the National Park Service’s Diane Banta pulled $1000 of her own money from her bustier up on stage to donate to the Calumet-Sag Trail. It was that kind of evening, a combination of down right orneriness and heartfelt commitment to bringing the Calumet-Sag Trail to life.
Jennifer Orr Photography donated her services for the evening and took some fine lookin’ - and sometimes blush-worthy - images. Enjoy ‘em!
