Friends of the Calumet-Sag Trail presented the City of Blue Island and the Calumet-Sag Trail Coalition with its first matching donation - $32,000 - to match $160,000 in federal trail grants. Trail partners The Coca-Cola Company and Rails to Trails Conservancy contributed $17,000 of the match, and FOCST raised an additional $15,000 through generous contributions and a successful Happy Trails Jamboree in 2009.
